About Eric

Eric LaMar Hall is an associate minister at Peace Missionary Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran, founding member of Black Lives Matter Birmingham, and a lifelong community advocate. He graduated from Miles College with a degree in Political Science and is currently completing a Master’s in Social Work at Lancaster Bible College, focusing on community mental health.

After graduating from P.D. Jackson-Olin High School in 2000, Eric enlisted in the Alabama Army National Guard, serving until 2009 and earning several honors, including the Army Achievement Medal for his service in Operation Enduring Freedom.

For more than a decade, Eric has worked to empower Black communities by organizing around voting rights, labor justice, LGBTQ+ equity, and dismantling systemic power structures. His leadership development began in 2018 when he was selected as a Fellow for Young People For (YP4), a social justice incubator focused on unlocking the potential of historically excluded youth leaders.

Eric continued to grow his impact as a 2019 Inaugural Fellow at Movement School and a 2020 Inaugural Fellow at the Black to the Future Public Policy Institute. These experiences deepened his commitment to grassroots organizing and building independent Black political power.

He later founded Project Organize Alabama, a non-partisan, statewide campaign that fights voter suppression and restores voting rights. Eric’s vision is rooted in the belief that justice demands equity and that policy must reflect the dignity and power of Black lives.
